Centre Director, Veterinary Surgeon
Dr. Conor Brand graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2017, and was awarded prizes for achievement in Pathology, as well as the highest grade in the cohort. He spent 4 years honing his craft at Tea Tree Gully Veterinary Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Mark Reeve. He provides his clients with exceptional patient care, and honest, reliable communication.
Conor has a pet cat, Patsy, who he adopted as a stray whilst working at Tea Tree Gully. In his spare time Conor enjoys hiking, travelling, gardening, reading, and having a coffee or wine with friends.
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr. Suzie Mauger graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013. She spent 3 years in general practice before pursuing her interest in emergency and critical care. She has worked in various emergency clinics around Adelaide for the past 8 years and recently obtained membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in emergency and critical care.
In her spare time Suzie enjoys exercising and spending time with her partner Jade and daughter Lexi.
Veterinary Nurse
Flavia started her veterinary journey in 2007, graduating as a veterinarian and dedicating eight years to a small animal practice in her home country, Brazil.
Seeking new horizons, she made a move to Australia, where she transitioned her career to becoming a veterinary nurse. She has worked in various surgical specialty centers in Adelaide before joining our team at Newton Veterinary Centre in 2021. Flavia has been a valuable member of our team by bringing her experience and passion for animal care to our practice.
Even though she is far from home, her heart is still with her cat, Chloe, back in Brazil under the loving care of her mother.
Veterinary Nurse
Nicole joined the team at Newton Veterinary Centre in 2021.
Born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, Nicole pursued her passion for animal care by graduating with a degree in Animal Science from the University of Adelaide. Currently, she is completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, driven by her passion for animal welfare and care.
Outside her studies and work at the clinic, Nicole finds joy in attending concerts, staying active with badminton and satisfies her wanderlust through travel, exploring new destinations whenever the opportunity arises.
Veterinary Nurse
Narelle joined the Newton Veterinary Centre team in mid 2023. She loves the atmosphere of the clinic and working with all the amazing nurses and Dr Conor.
She is currently in her final year of Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) degree at the University of Adelaide, where she hopes to continue gaining knowledge and experience in the field as a Veterinary Nurse.
Growing up, Narelle always had a passion for animals and finds it fulfilling that she is living out her dreams. Her special interest includes medical and surgical nursing, along with canine care and welfare. In her free time, Narelle loves going camping and water skiing at the river with her family and friends.
Veterinary Nurse
Ale obtained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2010 and started her career in a small practice in Brazil where she stayed for 7 years.
In search of new challenges and opportunities, she moved to Australia in 2018 and started working at Newton Veterinary Centre in 2021 where she expanded her international experience in veterinary nursing. Ale has discovered a strong affinity and interest in the area of veterinary anesthesia over the years of her professional career.
When she is not at work, Ale spends her time visiting wineries with her husband and loves running on the beach, finding inspiration and tranquility in the natural beauty of nature.
Veterinary Nurse
Olivia joined Newton Veterinary Centre in 2023 after completing her first placement with us. Her whole life she has had a passion for animals and she is set to complete her Bachelor of Veterinary Technology degree with the University of Adelaide in 2024.
Olivia is constantly discovering new interests which currently include pathology, feline medicine and exotics. She hopes to complete further study after her degree and obtain her Fear Free Certification.
Olivia is excited for where her veterinary career will take her and is a strong supporter of gold-standard veterinary care. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, pilates, running and spending time with her two cats, Luna and Tiger-Lily.
