Centre Director, Veterinary Surgeon

Dr. Conor Brand graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2017, receiving awards for excellence in Pathology and achieving the highest academic grade in his cohort. He spent four years developing his clinical skills at Tea Tree Gully Veterinary Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Reeve. Conor is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, along with honest and reliable communication for his clients.

Outside of work, Conor enjoys hiking, travelling, gardening, reading, and relaxing over a coffee or wine with friends. He also shares his home with Patsy, a cat he adopted as a stray during his time at Tea Tree Gully.

 Veterinary Surgeon

 Dr Jess graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2017 and spent the first seven years of her veterinary career caring for small animals in Canberra before relocating to Adelaide three years ago. While getting her family settled in Adelaide, Dr Jess worked as a mobile vet and is thrilled to now be a part of the Newton Veterinary centre team. 

Jess has a genuine passion for small animal medicine, with particular interests in behaviour concerns and palliative care. She especially enjoys building meaningful, long-term relationships with clients and their beloved pets, getting to know each individual pet and providing compassionate, personalised care throughout their lives.

Outside of work, Jess is kept busy with her two young boys and her two dogs, Narla, an Australian Shepherd, and Rupert, a dachshund. When she gets the chance, she enjoys getting outdoors with the kids or curling up with a good book and relaxing with a glass of wine.

Veterinary Nurse  

Nicole joined the team at Newton Veterinary Centre in 2021. Born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, she followed her passion for animal care by earning a degree in Animal Science from the University of Adelaide. In 2024, she furthered her commitment to the field by completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Nicole is also an avid IT enthusiast, often exploring how technology can enhance veterinary care and clinic efficiency.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys attending concerts, playing badminton, exploring new places through travel, and spending time with her spirited mini dachshund puppy, Prudence.

Veterinary Nurse 

Narelle joined the Newton Veterinary Centre team in mid-2023. She loves the welcoming atmosphere of the clinic and enjoys working alongside the amazing nurses and Dr. Conor.

Currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) at the University of Adelaide, Narelle is passionate about building her knowledge and experience as a veterinary nurse. Growing up with a deep love for animals, she feels grateful to be living out her dream. Her special interests include medical and surgical nursing, as well as canine care and welfare.

In her spare time, Narelle enjoys camping and water skiing at the river with family and friends, and spending quality time with her Cavoodle puppy, Rhubarb.

Veterinary Technician 

 Olivia joined Newton Veterinary Centre in 2023 after completing her first student placement with us. She has since graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.

Olivia is passionate about all aspects of veterinary care and is continually discovering new areas of interest, including pathology, feline medicine, and exotic animal care. She aspires to pursue further studies and obtain her Fear Free Certification to enhance her approach to animal handling and care.

A strong advocate for gold-standard veterinary care, Olivia is excited about where her career will take her. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, Pilates, running, and spending time with her two beloved cats, Luna and Tiger-Lily.

Veterinary Nurse 

 Stevie has been a part of our nursing team since 2026, bringing with her a deep passion for animal care. She holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and a Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care, as well as completing the Fear Free Certification program to ensure the comfort and well-being of every animal she cares for. Stevie has a particular interest in medical nursing for patients and wildlife, areas in which she is eager to continue growing and contributing. In her free time, Stevie enjoys caring for her wide range of pets including her two dogs ‘Cav and Willow’, blue tongue lizard ‘Albert’, chicken ‘Nancy' and her snake 'Boris'. 

Veterinary Nurse 

  Tiana joined the Newton Veterinary Centre team in 2026. She has been working in veterinary nursing since completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018. In 2022, she further developed her passion for cats by completing a Certificate in Feline Behaviour and Psychology.
With a particular passion for feline medicine and behaviour, Tiana enjoys helping cats feel comfortable and understood in the veterinary environment. She is especially interested in understanding the relationship between behaviour, wellbeing and medical care, and is always eager to continue learning within the veterinary field.
Outside of work, Tiana enjoys spending time with her cats, Blackie and Tortie, and her German Shepherd, Akela. She loves hiking through the forest, as well as spending her downtime playing video games, reading and painting.

  Adelaide joined Newton Veterinary Centre in 2022 as a kennel hand and is currently completing her final year of high school. She has a strong passion for animal care and spends much of her free time dog sitting and dog walking in her local community.

Adelaide enjoys being part of a team that prioritises high-quality care for every patient and is excited to continue learning and growing within the veterinary industry.

Outside of work, she loves baking, watching movies, and spending time with her two dogs, Ellie and Teddy.
